The Middle Ages Museum
Set up in two outsanding monuments - The Gallo-roman thermal baths (1st and 2nd centuries) and the Hotel of the Abbots of Cluny (end of 15th century) - the Middle Ages Museum covers nearly fifteen centuries of art and history. These collections include a very important testimony of celtic and gallo Roman art, but they are specially well known for the very wide comprehensive view they give of the Roman and Gothic Middle Ages in all its aspects: sculpture, miniatures, stained-glass windows, craftsmanship in precious metals, furniture, tapestries among which is the most famous wallhanging La Dame á la licorne. |
