Museos > Château
de Compiègne Museum
It is in 1751, under the reign of Louis XV, that
this Imperial residence came to life. The Compiègne and
the séries which Napoleon III and the Empress Eugénie
organised, gathering together about a hundred guests from the
court, date back to 1856. The castle houses a musum dedicated
to the Second Empire, but also a National Museum of Cars and Motoring
which assembles a significant collection of carriages and motor
vehicles, from their origins up to the First World War.
