Created by Alexandre Brongniart, son of the architect
of the Bourse de París ( the Paris stock market) and director
of the Porcelain Factory of Sevres from 1800 to 1847, the Ceramics
Museum has an extraordinary collection of ceramic pieces from
all times and places: European varnished potteries of the Middle
Ages, majolica ware from the Italian Renaissance and from the
17th and 18th century Europe, Sevres porcelain since 1740 until
today, but also Islamic ceramics, Hispanic Moorish china and Japanese
ceramics
